ASCO Helps Engineers of Tomorrow Build the Future with PMMI U Skills Fund Support

The 2025 FIRST Robotics Competition is well underway, and the Engineers of Tomorrow Team 2783 in Oldham County, Kentucky, is hard at work designing, building, and coding their latest creation. With competition season fast approaching, these high school students are putting in long hours—late nights and weekends—to refine their robot, enhance their coding skills, and prepare for upcoming regional events.
Behind the scenes, dedicated mentors and sponsors are making this incredible journey possible, providing students with the tools, resources, and guidance they need to succeed. Among these supporters is ASCO, whose commitment to STEM education is helping shape the next generation of engineers and innovators.
In 2024, ASCO contributed more than $14,000 to Engineers of Tomorrow, and through the PMMI U Skills Fund,we proudly matched their donations, doubling the impact on the team’s development. These funds provided essential shop supplies, materials for robot construction, computer upgrades, regional competition entry fees, and training expenses—ensuring that students have the resources they need to take their skills to the next level.
For Mike Nemeth, an ASCO representative and team coach, supporting Engineers of Tomorrow is more than just sponsorship—it’s about mentorship, leadership, and shaping the future workforce. "Mentoring and coaching as well as passing down knowledge to our young people gives me such joy, helping create the creators and doing my part to build future leaders," Nemeth shared. "This program truly transforms our young people. Thank you to all our mentors and sponsors—this program would not be possible without you!"
FIRST Robotics is more than just a competition—it’s a launching pad for future engineers, programmers, and industry leaders. Through partnerships like the one between ASCO and the PMMI U Skills Fund, we’re helping students gain hands-on experience, develop problem-solving skills, and prepare for careers in automation, packaging, and beyond.
As the Engineers of Tomorrow gear up for their March competitions, we can’t wait to see what they accomplish. With the continued support of industry leaders and organizations like ASCO, we know the future is in great hands.
