PMMI is a proud sponsor of the SPE Foundation Girl Scout Sustainable Packaging Patch

Delivering Positive Plastics Education™ and engaging youth who care about our environment, empowering them as future scientists and engineers to shape the packaging industry. The Girl Scouts have a mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. One of their pillars is to provide girls with quality STEM education. Students gravitate to what they know, and our programming will introduce scouts to the packaging industry and how that industry is making the world a better place by seeking sustainable solutions. Our goal for 2024 is 4,000 Girl Scouts served with Positive Plastics Education™ through our Patch Program.

PACK Challenge

To promote awareness of the packaging industry, build the pipeline of skilled future employees, and bridge the manufacturing skills gap, PMMI is working to develop fun educational programs to show students the world of manufacturing. Of these initiatives is the PACK Challenge.

This real-world packaging competition brings together teams of high school students from the Chicago area. They are challenged in a dynamic contest to design, build, and demonstrate innovative packaging machines at PACK EXPO International.

The PACK Challenge offers participating students and schools a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry professionals as they develop their own packaging machinery equipment that the schools will then keep, enabling them to explore automation and technology further.
