ITW Hartness Ignites Students’ Passion in Packaging Manufacturing
Need:
ITW Hartness wanted to partner with a local high school robotics team to show students the industry first-hand – with the hope it would lead them to consider a career in packaging manufacturing.
Action:
After applying for the PMMI U Skills Fund, ITW Hartness received matching funds to provide an in-person opportunity for the FIRST Team 283 to get hands-on experience with their machinery.
Result:
ITW Hartness went into the program hoping the students would show interest in packaging machinery…but they did not expect the robotics team’s level of passion and ability to quickly learn and pick up new skills.
In the end, PMMI matched ITW Hartness’ contributions for a grand total of $4,360 to the FIRST Team 283!
